Tasha Storey has loved reading books and stories since childhood, beginning with The Baby-Sitters Club series. She reads daily, embracing fiction, nonfiction, self-help, and fantasy as opportunities to learn, grow, and appreciate life. Inspired by authors like Zora Neale Hurston, Deepak Chopra, James Patterson, and Toni Morrison, she has nurtured a lifelong passion for literature.
A Registered Nurse since 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Tasha excelled in writing from an early age, participating in gifted programs, Honors English, and district writing contests. She also has a deep love for music, seeing it as poetry in motion, which influences her writing.
Her greatest inspiration struck in 2018 when Kendrick Lamar won the Pulitzer Prize, solidifying her lifelong dream of becoming a published author. Now, alongside raising four incredible children, she is committed to writing novels that uplift, thrill, and keep readers guessing.
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, she now resides in the Dallas suburbs. Having fulfilled her callings as a mother and nurse, she is determined to do the same as an author, hoping to inspire others to chase their dreams—no matter how long it takes.
Why the Secret Compartments series?

“I have almost two decades of nursing experience, primarily in affluent communities, where I have been privy to countless stories, secrets, and intricate human relationships. In my role, I naturally become a counselor, confidant, and keeper of secrets, gaining insight into human nature through both experience and studies in psychology, sociology, and ethics. This understanding informs the complex characters in my novel, making them deeply authentic and multi-dimensional. Also, my experience as a mother to a child with special needs gives me a personal connection to one of my characters, adding depth and realism to my storytelling.”
